When I was a graphic production designer at Caterpillar, I had the opportunity to work on a side project for the Cat Foundation, Caterpillar's charitable division, as part of their United Way campaign. I discovered all the great organizations the United Way works with in the community.

Through the HOI United Way Solution Council, I co-chair a panel of grant reviewers that evaluates grants for local programs aiming to have a positive and meaningful impact, as well as improve health-related outcomes.

I've helped out with different activities at the Midwest Food Bank and cooked at the Salvation Army soup kitchen. I volunteered with Faith in Action, driving seniors around. I taught classes with Junior Achievement. A while ago, I taught some Master Gardener classes.
